This is the page for the
Double click simulator and Winamp helper program.
This is a small freeware utility for Windows, that has two independently usable features, and can be accessed through a systray icon:
simulates double clicks (of the left
mouse button) using the middle clicks;
allows basic control of Winamp through different key
combinations (global hotkeys).
If you like earlier versions better, below they are. Ask for the sources in e-mail if you need it. However, versions below 2.1 are not recommended for double click simulation due to
serious problems with MSOffice.

Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the latest and the best: version 2.4!!!
Bugs were fixed, the new Windows is supported, exclusion list feature! Now with (cc) by-sa license.
2009.12.03
I thought I will release v2.4 a half a year ago, but still did not.
Now I'm in the position to say it out loud: THIS year it will surely be public (=> before Christmas)!
And it really works with Windows 7 (v2.3 doesn't, as it turned out).
2009.05.22
I've had enough of the unknown free hit-counters! That's it! I don't have any statistics from the
past years, and that's unacceptable. I'm curious about small things, like how many viewed the site.
So I've started using Google Analytics. If somebody hates Google, then I'm sure it has a way
to block that thing, I don't mind at all.
2009.05.20
Version 2.4 is around the corner - I hope I will put it online in June!
Thanks to Ralf, we know that v2.3 works just fine in Windows 7 (beta build 7000 x64).
And we've conquered Logitech's MouseWare, 'cos they don't make it for Vista and higher :). (Actually they made a different tool,
Logitech SetPoint,
which is far more clever - but it's 66MB...)
Old news:
2007.11.30
Version 2.3 is public. What happened: no more Win98 support for the double click feature;
a bugfix related to left-handed usage; no package with simple About dialog; .ini file comments preserved.
Yes, code bloat has entered this tiny program :). That fire effect is there and that's it.
Also, preserving the structure of the ini file (comments, alignment, etc.) increased the executable size
with an annoying number of bytes.
2006.09.26
Version 2.2 is public. Some small changes, related to Winamp and to saving the settings.
Many would say these are insignificant, and I wouldn't blame them.
2005.06.07
Moved the page to Freebase.hu. This new page is at http://pieceofsoft.freebase.hu/
Buglist.html is included in the package now, the readme.txt has no more bug
description.
Together with this move version 2.1 appeared.
2005.06.05
Well, well... at last I found the real way to simulate double clicks.
Now almost all bugs are gone (there are some that I can't test), and I only
need to do some testing with Win98. We'll see about that...
So the "active development" is over again, but now we have a much more usable
software.
2005.02.01
Active development of the program is over.
(Well, it wasn't really active in 2004 either.)
Reason: lack of time, especially for endless search for the reasons of the bugs.
The Winamp handling seems OK, the double clicking has its problems with MSWord... that's it.
I am open for "feature requests", of course, and if somebody has an idea
(or if I find some hints on the net) about how to do better simulation, I will try it.
2004.12.10
Nexus.hu is no more a free hosting service, so we'll search again.
2004.12.09
I took a really long break, didn't I?
Version 2.0 is available. More control over Winamp (mute, vol up/down, prev/next),
and separated the two features (see Karaj's suggestion).
Minor improvements in the double-click simulation (but still not perfect).
2003.11.26
It appears that Outblaze, the provider of Operamail,
had some problems in November. The account works, but the site is very slow (at
least from my connection).
2003.11.26
Now we have the Buglist on its own page.
2003.11.14
Suggestion (by Karaj): separate completely the Pause feature from the middle-click.
(each one to be enabled/disabled individually). Totally agree...
2003.10.09
Link to readme.txt added.
2003.09.22
Version 1.1 is made public. Winamp pause ability, options dialog, ini file, icons, etc.
I see no reason why anybody would be interested in version 1.0, but if you really
need it, I still have it (without the sources).
2003.08.14
Creation date. Version 1.0 is made public.
